Durations shown per item: lingering clouds apply the effect at a quarter of the drinkable duration, tipped arrows at an eighth. Instant effects are not shortened.

## **What each ingredient does**

### **Blaze Powder**

Fuels the brewing stand — one piece powers 20 brewing operations. Nothing brews without it.

### **Nether Wart**

Turns a water bottle into an awkward potion, the neutral base almost every effect ingredient needs.

### **Redstone Dust**

Extends the duration. On a plain water bottle it only makes a useless mundane potion.

### **Glowstone Dust**

Amplifies the effect to level II and usually halves the duration. On water it gives a thick potion.

### **Gunpowder**

Converts any potion into a throwable splash potion without changing its effect.

### **Dragon's Breath**

Turns a splash potion into a lingering potion that leaves an effect cloud — and the base for tipped arrows.

### **Fermented Spider Eye**

Corrupts an effect into its opposite: Swiftness and Leaping become Slowness, Healing and Poison become Harming, Night Vision becomes Invisibility, and a plain water bottle becomes Weakness.
