# **Terms of service**

The rules for using the Spectra site and Spectra Launcher.

Last updated: 28 August 2026

## **What these terms cover**

The service is operated by —, who runs the Spectra project. These terms cover this site, its tools and Spectra Launcher.

By using the service you accept these rules. If you do not agree with them, do not use it.

## **What Spectra is**

Spectra Launcher is a free program that starts Minecraft and manages mods. We do not sell the game and we do not get around having to buy it.

To play on servers that require a premium account you need your own, legitimately purchased Minecraft account.

Spectra is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang Studios.

## **Accounts**

An account is optional — the launcher works without one. If you create one, you are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping your password secret.

One person, one account. No impersonation and no misleading names.

You can delete your account at any time from the account page.

## **Your content**

You are responsible for what you upload: avatar, name, shared modpacks and skins.

By uploading, you confirm you have the rights to it and grant us a limited licence to store and display it as far as running the service requires.

When sharing a pack, remember that mods have their own authors and licences — some of them forbid redistributing the files.

## **What is not allowed**

Breaking the law, copyright or somebody else’s privacy.

Distributing malware or illegal, hateful or harassing content.

Circumventing protections, overloading the service, harvesting other users’ data or creating accounts automatically.

Using the service to avoid buying Minecraft or to bypass Mojang authentication.

## **Launcher licence**

Spectra Launcher is open source under GPLv3. The code is public and you may use it on that licence’s terms.

The Minecraft and Mojang trademarks belong to Mojang Studios and Microsoft. Modrinth and CurseForge belong to their respective owners.

## **Availability and warranties**

The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that it will be free of defects.

We may change, limit or switch off individual features. Where possible we will give notice of material changes.

## **Liability**

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, lost data or lost profits arising from use of the service.

This does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, in particular for damage caused intentionally.

We are not responsible for the content or behaviour of third-party mods, packs and servers.

## **Suspension and removal**

Accounts that break these terms may be suspended or removed. Where possible we will give notice and a reason.

You can appeal by writing to the contact address.

## **Changes to these terms**

We may change these terms. The date of the last change is at the top of the page, and continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.

## **Governing law**

These terms are governed by Polish law. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in your country of residence.
